This new collection is presently in development. Here is a sneak peek.
It is a new line of designs incorporating beads hand made by a small group of Ugandan women.
By buying their beads and selling these designs (the women are paid for both) it is helping them make a living and feed their families.
Mushana translates into “Under One Sun”.
We are all here together under one sun….Lets do more to support each other.
These bee hive shaped beads are made from rolled magazine paper and then dyed. Jade, glass crystals, fresh water pearls and seed beads make this piece truly 'from many lands'.
These Mushana beads were made with rolled up newspaper. Pearls and silver accents round it out.
These rounded gold/orange textured beads were made from barkcloth, a source that is plentiful in Uganda. Czeck glass, Swarovksi crystal and orange agate create a unique textured look. Finished in the front for extra dangle factor!!
